Will exterior paint stop my wall leaking?
Standard exterior emulsion will not. It is not a waterproofing system and will not bridge a crack. An elastomeric coating over properly treated cracks will, and it is a different specification and cost.
How often should exteriors be repainted?
In Mumbai, every 4 to 6 years on an exposed elevation, longer on a sheltered one. The windward face always goes first and can be done on its own.
