Luxury Modular Kitchen Design

A luxury kitchen has to look calm and work hard. In Indian homes that usually means two kitchens in one: a show kitchen people see, and a working kitchen where the real cooking happens.

Show kitchen and working kitchen

Many large Mumbai apartments now plan an open island kitchen for breakfast and entertaining, with a closed working kitchen behind it for tadka, frying and heavy cooking. This keeps smoke and smells out of the living space and lets the show kitchen stay immaculate.

What defines a luxury kitchen

  • Handle-less or gola shutters in lacquer, veneer, acrylic or fenix for a seamless look. See our finishes guide.
  • Integrated appliances: built-in ovens, steam ovens, wine coolers and panel-ready refrigerators.
  • Stone or quartz tops, with a waterfall edge on the island.
  • Premium hardware: soft-close lift-up systems, tall pantry pull-outs and corner solutions from established brands.
  • A powerful chimney sized for Indian cooking, ducted properly.

The carcass still matters most

A premium shutter on a weak carcass fails just as fast. We build luxury kitchens on 18 mm BWP plywood to IS 710, with every edge banded. Our plywood guide explains why.

Lighting the kitchen

Under-cabinet task lighting, pendants over the island, and soft accent light inside glass cabinets, each on its own switch or scene.

Cost

Standard modular kitchens in Mumbai are covered in our kitchen cost guide. Luxury kitchens go well beyond those ranges once imported shutters, integrated appliances and stone are added, so we price them from a written specification.

Answers

Common questions

What is a luxury modular kitchen?

A kitchen with handle-less premium shutters, integrated appliances, stone or quartz tops, high-end hardware and planned lighting, built on a moisture-resistant BWP carcass.

Should I have a separate working kitchen?

In Indian homes with heavy cooking, a closed working kitchen behind an open show kitchen keeps smoke out of the living space and is increasingly common in large apartments.

Which countertop is best for a luxury kitchen?

Quartz is the most practical: hard, non-porous and stain-resistant. Natural marble looks beautiful on an island but etches and needs sealing.

How long does a luxury kitchen take?

Usually five to eight weeks from frozen design, longer with imported shutters or appliances.
