TV Unit Design for Bedroom

In a bedroom the TV usually competes with the wardrobe for the same wall. Deciding that early saves rebuilding later.

Overview

About bedroom tv unit

Bedroom televisions are mounted higher than living room ones, because the viewing position is reclined rather than seated. A screen at living-room height is uncomfortable to watch lying down.

The more common issue in a Mumbai bedroom is spatial. The wall facing the bed is usually also the wall the wardrobe wants. Integrating the screen into the wardrobe run resolves it, but the recess and the cable route have to be built in from the start.

Answers

Bedroom TV Unit — questions

How high should a bedroom TV be?

Higher than in a living room — screen centre at 48 to 54 inches — because you watch it reclined rather than seated upright. Add a tilting bracket so the screen angles down towards the bed. Mounting at living room height means craning your neck up from the pillow.

Can the TV be integrated into the wardrobe?

Yes, and in most Mumbai bedrooms it is the right answer because the wardrobe and the screen want the same wall. It needs a recess and a cable route designed in from the start — retrofitting a screen into a finished wardrobe means cutting a carcass that was not planned for it.

What size screen suits a bedroom?

Measure bed to wall. Most Mumbai bedrooms give 8 to 10 feet, which suits 32 to 43 inches. The screen is viewed from a fixed position in a bedroom, unlike a living room, so there is less reason to oversize it.
